Shopping. Art. Relaxation. What’s not to like?

Girlfriends Getaway Itinerary

Start your Girlfriends’ Getaway with brunch at either Haley Jo on the Go (no alcohol service) or Abi-Haus. Next door to Abi-Haus, be sure to visit Betty & June, a chic boutique with designs from fashion centers on both coasts.
Nearby is Casa Authentique, perhaps the finest shopping destination between Fort Worth and El Paso. This traditional, full-service luxury shopping experience, covers 45,000 square feet of fine home furnishings, designer fashions, shoes, jewelry and gifts. Be sure and check out the Casa Outlet upstairs (Noon-5 p.m., Wed.-Sat.), for prices 50-75 percent off everyday prices.

On the other end of downtown, Loft on 6th offers amazingly curated pieces for a chic and stylish lifestyle. From shoes, to jewelry, to even baby goods…they have it all.

Plan your day in advance and make a reservation at Maia Aesthetics for a facial, peel, lash & brow or makeup service. If you’ve brought enough girlfriends that you need to stagger your aesthetic services, spend some time exploring some of the many artists of the Cockerell Galleries, in the same building.

On the next block is Jody Klotz Fine Art, a distinctive West Texas gallery, which specializes in 19th and 20th Century European, American and Texas paintings. The Center for Contemporary Arts has five galleries and presents more than 20 different admission-free exhibits of regional art, international photography, and award-winning short films.

We’re sure it won’t be too difficult to gather your girls back together for a glass of wine at Vagabond Pizza or Cypress St. Station. If you’ve planned your visit on the right weekend, take in a classic film at the Historic Paramount Theater.

Finally, relax with a glass of wine under the stars at one of the most unique wine bars anywhere, The Mill, and start planning your next Downtown Abilene experience.
